Lauren L., I just returned from another successful research expedition to Solukhumbu organized by Deep at Himalayan Eco-Culture. We were 4 scientists and an anthropologist with a complex and ambitious itinerar. Delicate equipment that required special treatment, and a project that demanded both flexibility and technical expertise.

Deep and his team were consummate professionals who managed everything we needed to reach our project site, complete the work, and make it back on time for our flights home. And they did it with honesty, transparent pricing, and cheer. This included securing research permits, hiring special guides with the unique skills needed to make our work successful, and facilitating communication with local leaders and community representatives in the areas where we worked so that we could be confident that stakeholders in the area knew and approved of what we were doing. At every step, Deep and his team went above and beyond to assure our comfort, safety, and success. I was also happy to see how well the company cares for its staff, including the porters. As a Nepali language speaker myself, I could understand all of the communications among the team. It was clear that Deep takes his responsibilities to his employees seriously and that affection and family feelings among the team.

This is the second time, Lauren L- I have trekked in the Khumbu with Deep’s support and I plan to continue to work with him in the future. I strongly recommend Himalayan Eco-Culture Treks and Research Expeditions to anyone planning a trek for pleasure and/or professional reasons.
